Belt Frequency Meters
The Clavis Belt Meter is a two-component system consisting of a hand-held meter attached to either an Optical, or Acoustic sensor via an electronic cable. The Acoustic sensor which is available in a range of sizes and profiles. The Optical sensor which uses an infrared beam to detect the vibration of a belt strand and sends a signal to the meter.
Type 3 Belt Meter
- 7Hz to 300Hz
The Type 3 Belt Meter is suitable for measuring frequencies in all types of belts and outputting measurements in Hertz (Hz). This belt meter is available in Optical and Acoustic and is operated by a simple ON/OFF keypad button.
- The Type 3 Optical has a frequency measurement range of 7Hz to 300Hz and uses an optical sensor head. This meter is useful where there is a requirement to measure tension in a variety of belts, some vibrating at low frequencies.
- The Type 3 Acoustic has a frequency measurement range of 10Hz to 300Hz. The acoustic sensor is particularly suitable for belts which vibrate poorly or where the amplitude of belt vibration is very small.
This meter measures and displays readings from the belt under tension in Hertz (Hz) only.

The CompactBFM measures in Hertz (Hz) and is operated by a simple ON/OFF keypad button. All belt types are suitable including toothed timing belts and poly-vee belts.
- The CompactBFM has a frequency measurement range of 10Hz to 600Hz and uses a built-in optical sensor. This meter is useful where there is a requirement to measure tension in a variety of belts, some vibrating at low frequencies.
This meter measures and displays readings from the belt under tension in Hertz (Hz) only.
This meter use wireless communication standard IEEE 802.15.1 (Bluetooth).
The CompactBFM has the ability to connect to a Desktop or mobile application to convert the Hertz (Hz) measurement into Newtons (N), pounds (Lbs), and Kilogram-Force (KgF).
